This domain is about sharing the details about the network interfaces of the systems under test as well as the characteristics of the network where the systems under test operate.
Bounded context
The scope of the domain is limited to the network interfaces of the systems and the characteristics of the network where the systems operate (online/on-site). When on-site, it also covers the IP addresses allocation and DNS configuration.
The identification and capabilities of the systems under test are covered under the System Identification and Capabilities management domain.
The definition of the network interfaces is part of the specification model management domain.
Objectives
- Allow the SUT operator to configure their systems to be able to access the network and the testing tools;
- Allow the SUT operator to configure their systems to contact the other systems they need to interact with;
- Allow the network administrator to allocate IP addresses to the systems (when testing face to face) and to configure the DNS.
Constraints
Technical and business constraints
Business concerns that are addressed
- Sharing network interfaces among participants;
- Communicating the network details and how to access testing tools;
- Configuring the network for face-to-face events.
